Welcome to My Blog!

Welcome to my Blog called Magical Moments!

Hello readers! I am so thankful that I got this blog, and that I get to share all my Magical Moments. Thank you, Mrs. Yollis for creating this wonderful blog. Sharing all my "Magical Moments" will be so much fun. Readers can expect posts about my adventures as well as original stories.

                                                       Favorites

My favorite stuffed animals are my baby elephants, and all their names are Dumbo and they sleep on my bed. My family and I got them from Disneyland, and I like them because they were my first and favorite stuffed animals I've ever had.

Gymnastics is my favorite sport and my favorite event is the balance beam. Doing splits, handstands, cartwheels, and backbends are also my favorite moves.

Using purple everywhere is what I like to do best! I use purple supplies and purple is even the color of my gymnastics beam. (A piece of gymnastics equipment) I love purple!

Lastly, this is my beautiful fish, and her name is Goldie. She is fun to watch and always hungry. Goldie is a goldfish and lives with Freckles, my sister's goldfish.  I also have a pet beta fish named Jewel, and she lives in a different tank. I love all my pet fish!

  1. I love the title of your blog, "Magical Moments." It's a good way to remember all the moments in life that our magical. Those memories can help during the not-so-magical-moments in life.

Since you like elephants, have you ever read, The Elephant's Child by Rudyard Kipling? Mr. Kipling also wrote The Jungle Book. My Dad used to tell this story on long car rides. You can read it here: http://telelib.com/authors/K/KiplingRudyard/prose/JustSoStories/chap5_elephantchild.html

  2. Dear Magical Moments,

What a fantastic blog you have put together!

I love how you wrote about yourself and then made the post better with images. One thing I have learned is that images really draw in readers.

My favorite photo is the one of you doing a backbend. It is a great photo for the internet because you can demonstrate a skill, yet you do not reveal too much personal information. Well done!

Have you always loved elephants, or do you only love Dumbo?

    Your proud teacher,

    1. Dear Mrs. W,

I was so happy to receive a new comment from you, and you were the first comment on this blog. I have never read The Elephant's Child. Is it your favorite paragraph writing? Do you recommend reading it?

  5. Dear Gymnast,
Great job on your first post! I like cool tone colors and my favorite color is blue. I love all shades of blue and this background you selected is very pretty! My favorite sport is basketball because I played it as a kid, but now I like watching gymnastics and soccer and am looking forward to the Olympics this summer.

Growing up our family had 1 pet, it was really my younger sister's, a gray and white bunny named Eddie Rabbit. I remember it scampering around the background and hiding in the plants. I also remember my grandparents, tutu's parents, had a small light brown Chihuahua dog named Chibi.

Which sports and athletes will you be following during the Olympics? Do you know where it is being held this year? I look forward to reading about your Magical Moments!

    Love,
    Mom

  6. I like your fish. I had fish growing up. We had two fish tanks in the house. One had African Cichlids and the other one had fancy goldfish. The aquarium with the goldfish was made out of a wine barrel that my dad had converted into an aquarium. I really liked feeding the fish and watching them swim. They always looked so peaceful. Do you like going to the aquarium to look at fish too? What is your favorite fish to look at?

    1. Dear Uncle Ryan,

I love going to the aquarium to look at all the different fish swimming around.

The fish I like seeing the most are the clown fish. When we went to the Georgia Aquarium, I got to see and discover so many other fish. I really like the giant whale sharks there too. Learning about all the different types of fish is interesting and fun.

What are some of your favorite fish?

    2. I like to look at koi. I went with my son to a koi farm last week. He really enjoyed looking at all of the colorful fish swimming around the ponds. There were so many of them. Our favorite ones were white and red.

The Georgia Aquarium must have been awesome! I can't believe you got to see a whale shark? Maybe I'll get a chance to go there one day to see it too.

Have you been to the Long Beach Aquarium? Weve been there and really liked looking at the otters.

  7. Just looking at your backbend makes my back ache. My back does not bend backwards! I had some fish a long time ago. They were koi but I gave them up. I remember one fish that jumped out of the tank and it was about 5 minutes later that I found out about it. I put him back in and to my surprise he lived! I will come and visit you and your fish soon.

  9. Dear Gymnastics,
Congratulations on getting your own blog, I know you worked very hard to earn it and you deserve it!

My favorite color is blue because it reminds me of the ocean in Hawaii, which is my favorite place to visit. The background of your blog looks fantastic! I also like yellow and green because these colors make me feel relaxed like I'm sitting at the beach. You are a very talented gymnast and I wish I could do all the flips and tricks like you. I love to play soccer and travelling with my tournament team.

As you mentioned, I have a white, black, gray and orange goldfish named Freckles. We also have a plecostomus that eats all the algae and keeps the tank as clean as can be. I hope one day we can get a dog. I would want a white, fluffy Maltese.

If you were to get a dog, what breed would it be?

  10. What a great blog. Goldie is a good fish. She doesn't bark, bite, or make a lot of noise. She eats almost anything we put in the tank. Her favorite food is fish flakes. I wonder if they get tired of eating the same thing.

What are your favorite things to eat?

    1. Dear Jordan,

My favorite animals are elephants and giraffes. I like elephants because I have a collection of them. Giraffes are amazing animals because I like their long necks.

I always wish to meet the famous gymnast, Gabby Douglas. I have seen her in movies, books, and posters. I think she is the best at bars.

I've seen and met other UCLA gymnasts because my mom and I went to see their competition. I also have a poster that all of them signed!

    2. That's so cool! For me, I am dying to meet Shawn Mendes because to me they have been a big impact on my life and brightens up my day when I listen to their music. My favorite animal is the Peregrine Falcon because it's super fast, just like my love for running.

Do you want to go to the Olympics for Gymnastics?
Are you interested in any other sports or arts?

  12. Hello gymnastics,

You have made a great start to blogging. Letting people know a little about you helps them understand more about what you blog. Now you have to build your readership through interesting posts.

Stuffed animals - While I don't keep them, I buy stuffed animals from local markets and charities. They are all given away. Many are teddy bears and are given away at Halloween time to children who visit (they also get candy). Others are purchased to help charities. My favourite are hospital bears for a children's charity. I pay for them and donate them to sick chidlren in hospital. Some are even sent to schools I at times blog with. Yes, Mrs. Yollis's ast classes have received some.

Gymnastics - I don't do gymnastics but I am interested in dance but can't do it myself. I do produce photos and DVDs for two dance schools. There are some very talented students.

Pets - I no longer have pets but can often be found hiking in local natonal parks taking photos of scenes, animals and plants. I post some on Google+, Facebook and Twitter.

Connections? - I first started with computers while a university (college) student back in the 1970s and have seen so much growth in how the computers can be used. As you know, from your home you can be connected with the world.

Keep blogging and sharing. A good idea for a blogger is to keep adding interesting posts to keep readers returning.

  15. Hi Gymnastics,
I like gymnastics too, the bars are my favorite. But I like basketball more.

We just came back from Disneyworld in Orlando and I thought of you everytime I saw Dumbos! At Animal Kingdom we went on a safari ride and I saw a real elephant. They were big and awesome. We also saw giraffes walking around right in front of our car.

    We should go visit together.

    Love,
    Cousin Mia
